Travel Log

This year I want to try and log all of our travels. Well Brian's. That way at the end of the year we can look back and see how many trips he went on and where he went.

January 13-16 Casper, Wyoming
January 16-20 Elko, Nevada
January 20- Gillette, Wyoming

Then he might go straight to Mexico. We will see. Things change so fast in this business!

Today was a good day. One of my favorite girls at school was adopted today. She is 7 years old. Just a sweet heart. I have always liked her and it has always broken my heart to hear her stories about going in and out of foster homes. Last week she ran up to me and said Mrs. Allen I am getting adopted!! Words can not describe the joy that was all over her face. Every day she would give me the countdown of when she was getting adopted. This morning she went with her new mom and dad and became one of their family. She came back and gave me the biggest hug. I started getting emotional! All day I have been thinking about this sweet little girl and the sweet parents she now has. I have never met them but anyone that takes children in and loves them have to be wonderful people. I know that not all foster families are good but I am choosing to think that this particular couple is kind and wonderful. I can tell by how excited she is to have a family to love her.

Our weather here has been crazy! Last Saturday it was 65 degrees. Yes, you heard me. 65! And Sunday.... 20... I experienced my first ice storm! It wasn't terrible but it was definitely an ice storm. This week has been really cold. Not Idaho cold. I am grateful for the mild Indiana winters compared to Idaho!

I was going to blog about something but I just forgot. Until I remember....

Christmas P2

was very surprised. Brian is excellent at surprises.

The day after Christmas we get a freak snow storm. It was a baby storm to us but it shut the whole town down! Very few stores were open, but if they were, we got great deals! I got lots of Christmas stuff for next year! Doesn't our house look cute with lights???!!! LOVE IT!

These are totally out of over. You'll be just fine.

New Year's Eve. We went over to J&E's house and played games. We had chips and dip and lots of yummy treats. I don't remember but I think the girls got DOMINATED in Canasta... but I can't remember.

Christmas Eve
This year we were very sad that we didn't get to go home for Christmas. J&E invited us to spend Christmas Eve with them. We went to dinner at this Chinese Buffet place. Not very good. Brian didn't even like it... We came back to the house and had a small musical program with a couple stories. All said and done we were wrapped up by 8:00 PM. We went home in hopes that we could Face Time with everyone in Idaho and it would be like we were right there with everyone. There were technical difficulties and it didn't work. Very sad Jessica. f

Brian was this year's victim of the song 'Who has a beard that's long and white.' I think it's called Must Be Santa?

Christmas Eve. We thought it would be appropriate to have a picture in front of our house for our first Christmas. Notice no snow. We have snow now and it is freezing! And I love my Christmas lights but it was too light to turn them on to see them.

We kept the breakfast tradition alive this year. We went to Cracker Barrel and had pancakes, ham, juice, biscuits and gravy, fried apples and eggs. All for 8.99 folks.
