thought of the day

Today I got my hair done and I was flipping through magazines while my color was processing.  I came across some Audrey Hepburn stuff.  I have never really read or sean anything that involves her but I thought what I found was great.

I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.

“Nothing is impossible, the word itself says 'I'm possible'!”

the best day of the year!

The best day of the year has finally arrived!  The day after V-Day is here!  Even better than Christmas!.... Well not really. BUT... the day after V-Day means that all the V-Day candy goes away and ALL of the Easter candy comes out.  And that mean, bags and bags of Cadbury Eggs!  I love them.  They are my favorite!  I think Easter is the best candy holiday.  I may not feel good today, and I may have had to spend V-Day alone, but today is truly a good day! :)

I need a Puppy

Brian was supposed to go Casper yesterday morning and return tomorrow night.  I was fine with the trip, only three days.  It got called off Monday afternoon.  I think it probably had something to do with him not getting a flight out Monday because of the Superbowl and the engine tear down started Monday and by the time he could get there it would be pointless.  I don't know, that might have nothing to do with it.

Anywhooo, Brian came home yesterday for lunch and said he might be going to Chilie.  He was so excited!  Well at two in the afternoon we find out the verdict.  They decided to have a guy that will be stationed in Peru  go and Brian will be going to Peoria for the next two weeks.  He gets back the night before we head to mexico.

Brian wants me to go with him but I can't.  I told a friend a month ago that I would stay with her boys this Sunday and Monday night while they are in Peoria on business.  Maybe I can go with him the second week if I can get us all packed up and house clean and all the laundry done for mexico the next morning :)

I need a puppy to keep me company while he is away.  But I can't have one or I will never get to go with him if he goes out of town.  It's a loose loose situation.

Happy Wednesday aka hump day!

???

I don't even know what to call this post.  As I sit here on the couch, I don’t even know where to start.  In January I went with Brian on a business trip to Peoria.  When we originally started the job interview process we really thought we would end up with CAT in Peoria.  When the offer came for Lafayette we were really surprised, as we had already started looking for housing there.  However, we felt better about living in Lafayette.  My feelings were confirmed when I made my first trip to Peoria.  We spent Sunday through Friday there and that was enough time for me.  I am glad we live in Lafayette.  I think part of it is just due to the fact that Peoria is in Illinois and I personally think that in and of itself is enough not to like any town in the state.  Thursday there was a bad storm and there were so many accidents!  I have never seen so many.  It was like a movie seeing cars and semis in the middle of a pond and trucks that ran off cliffs!  I am certainly glad the roads cleared off by the time we had to leave.

We were the chaperones at an overnighter for a ward youth party.  The girls spent the night at the bishops house and the boys came to the Gardner’s.  The YM leaders spent the evening entertaining the boys, we just had to be there as a formality.  We just played Canasta with Jim and Elizabeth.   The night was so full of drama I wouldn’t know where to start to tell about it! We also got another snow storm with several inches of snow.  Since then, it has not snowed once. We have got two storms all year and it melts within two days.

The weather has been so nice!  We have been in the high 50s several times!  We have been running outside and on Friday we went out and played tennis for a few hours after work.

And on a more exciting note… We Are Going To Mexico!!  That’s right! The end of the month we will be going for 5 days.  It will be a great trip because we will get to see each of our families for a day. I know, that is not very long, but a day is better than nothing!  I am so excited!  And we will even get to keep the now the 12 year tradition going and get to the state basketball championships!!!
