???

I don't even know what to call this post.  As I sit here on the couch, I don’t even know where to start.  In January I went with Brian on a business trip to Peoria.  When we originally started the job interview process we really thought we would end up with CAT in Peoria.  When the offer came for Lafayette we were really surprised, as we had already started looking for housing there.  However, we felt better about living in Lafayette.  My feelings were confirmed when I made my first trip to Peoria.  We spent Sunday through Friday there and that was enough time for me.  I am glad we live in Lafayette.  I think part of it is just due to the fact that Peoria is in Illinois and I personally think that in and of itself is enough not to like any town in the state.  Thursday there was a bad storm and there were so many accidents!  I have never seen so many.  It was like a movie seeing cars and semis in the middle of a pond and trucks that ran off cliffs!  I am certainly glad the roads cleared off by the time we had to leave.

We were the chaperones at an overnighter for a ward youth party.  The girls spent the night at the bishops house and the boys came to the Gardner’s.  The YM leaders spent the evening entertaining the boys, we just had to be there as a formality.  We just played Canasta with Jim and Elizabeth.   The night was so full of drama I wouldn’t know where to start to tell about it! We also got another snow storm with several inches of snow.  Since then, it has not snowed once. We have got two storms all year and it melts within two days.

The weather has been so nice!  We have been in the high 50s several times!  We have been running outside and on Friday we went out and played tennis for a few hours after work.

And on a more exciting note… We Are Going To Mexico!!  That’s right! The end of the month we will be going for 5 days.  It will be a great trip because we will get to see each of our families for a day. I know, that is not very long, but a day is better than nothing!  I am so excited!  And we will even get to keep the now the 12 year tradition going and get to the state basketball championships!!!

  1. I agree! We lived in Peoria for a whooping 5 months and I hated every second of it! There were lots of killings too! Kind of a scary place! Have fun in Mexico, I'm jealous!
